MJ Quigley Fund for
Professional Community Support
MJ Quigley’s impact on Chapin is nothing short of extraordinary.
Known for her kindness, courage, meticulous attention to detail, decisiveness and encyclopedic knowledge of all things Chapin, she has given her time and expertise to virtually every area of the School over many years, partnering with four Heads of School and countless trustees, parents and professional community members. She played an especially instrumental role in Chapin’s recently completed building project, helping to oversee the planning, design and implementation of an array of transformative new spaces, including the Hayot Center for Innovation and the School’s first regulation-size gymnasium. From her early days as a Physical Education teacher and coach to her all-encompassing position as Associate Head of School, MJ has had a lasting and far-reaching influence on 100 East End Avenue. Among the numerous hats she’s worn, she has taught K-12 P.E.; coached field hockey, basketball, tennis and lacrosse; served as an 11th grade Supervisor and as Athletic Director. In honor of MJ’s retirement in 2022, after 40 years of exemplary service, Chapin has proudly established the MJ Quigley Fund for Professional Community Support. When presented with the idea, MJ requested that income from the Fund be designated to support Chapin’s dedicated faculty and staff. Throughout her tenure, MJ has gone above and beyond to tirelessly champion her Chapin colleagues, and this Fund will be one of her many legacies.
