Commencement 2022

On the gorgeous, sun-filled morning of June 15, 2022, after a joyful Assembly with classmates, Upper School peers, and faculty at Chapin, the 59 members of the Class of 2022 strode jubilantly across a peony-adorned stage at the 583 Park Avenue event space, marking their last day as students of The Chapin School. Highlights of the commencement program included traditional songs performed by the Upper School students and the Choral Club; a reading of “A Call to Celebrate” by Upper School Head Allison Bishop; remarks from LeeAnn Black, Chair of the Board of Trustees; a wise and humorous address by Scholar in Residence Dr. Naomi Extra, an American Council of Learned Societies Emerging Voices Fellow in Feminist Knowledge and Social Justice at Rutgers University, New Brunswick; and, of course, comments from and the awarding of the diplomas by Head of School Suzanne Fogarty. The families, friends and Professional Community members in attendance were filled with pride as they witnessed this celebratory occasion.

Congratulations to the "2EN2ATIONAL" Class of 2022 on this momentous accomplishment! We wish you much happiness and fulfillment in your college years and beyond. We look forward to welcoming you back to Chapin.
