Intergenerational Tea 2018

Over 100 guests, including alumnae, current students and a former teacher, gathered in the Assembly Room on Thursday afternoon, November 29, for the annual Alumnae Association Intergenerational Tea. This treasured Chapin tradition brings together alumnae grandmothers, mothers and aunts and their current Chapin granddaughters, daughters and nieces.

Head of School Dr. Patricia Hayot welcomed the families in attendance and introduced a short video that offered a glimpse into daily life at Chapin and also a preview of some of the amazing new spaces that are currently taking shape atop 100 East End Avenue. Guests enjoyed tea, cider, fruit and Chapin’s famous brownies, while the youngest ones had fun creating colorful crafts to take home.

The event also featured a display of uniforms from Chapin’s past (the bloomers were a favorite!) and a slideshow of photographs throughout the years, put together by Chapin Archives volunteers Eleanor Martin Hoagland ’69 and Holly Phillips ’89.
