Alumnae Reunion 2018

Nearly 400 guests visited Chapin for the Alumnae Reunion festivities held on April 19 and 20, 2018. The two-day event began on Thursday when alumnae had the opportunity to tour the School, sit in on classes, watch a sports practice, and observe Clubhouse, Chapin’s after-school program. They were also invited to attend special presentations by Eleanor Southworth, who shared stories from Chapin’s archives, and Chair of the Board of Trustees LeeAnn Black, who presented a breakdown on the business of The Chapin School. The activity-filled day ended with classmates (and some of their former teachers) gathering in the Assembly Room for a cocktail party, which included a lively performance by Chapin’s alumnae/parent/professional community singing group, the Later Gators.*

On Friday, enthusiastic Kindergarten greeters welcomed alumnae as they returned to Chapin for the Alumnae Association Annual Meeting.  There, they heard remarks from Alumnae Association President Kim Karetsky Krinsky; Head of School Dr. Patricia T. Hayot; LeeAnn Black; 50th Reunion Class Speaker Ann Ramsey; and President of Self-Government Caoimhe Boyle, a member of Class 12. The meeting concluded with the formal induction of the Class 12 students (members of the Class of 2018) into the Alumnae Association, and the singing of the School Song.

Following the meeting, alumnae gathered in the Gordon and Berendsen Rooms for the traditional Reunion luncheon, filling the halls with the joyful sound of laughter and the energetic conversation of lifelong friends.
