Dr. Carolyn Ash, an accomplished educational leader with far-reaching experience, joined Chapin this year as our Director of Equitable Practices. Dr. Ash received her B.A. in Psychology from Oberlin College, M.A. in Education from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor and Ed.D. in Educational Leadership, Management and Policy from Seton Hall University. Previously, Dr. Ash was based in Aurora, Colorado, serving as the Senior Student Life Director for College Track, a college completion program supporting students from low-income communities. While Dr. Ash has worked primarily with high school students in recent years, she brings significant experience spanning Pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade, including success in providing strategic leadership to institutions in the areas of diversity and inclusion. As Chapin's Director of Equitable Practices, Dr. Ash works with all members of our community to continue and to advance our work to ensure that Chapin is an equitable and inclusive K-12 institution, collaborating with students, parents/guardians, professional community members, alums, the administration and Trustees and supported by our divisional Equity Coordinators. After receiving a B.A. in Psychology from Oberlin College, she earned her M.A. in Education from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor and her Ed.D. in Educational Leadership, Management and Policy from Seton Hall University. Dr. Ash loves to sing and is a huge fan of the arts, especially TV, film, theater and photography. She also loves to travel, throughout the U.S. and globally.
