Lower School Process

Note: All Kindergarten applicants must be five years old by August 31, 2026. There are no exceptions. 

Submit the online application and fee through your Ravenna account. Online applications should be submitted by December 1, 2025.

After your application has been submitted, you may schedule your parent tour and interview; Please allow approximately 90 minutes for the entire visit. The deadline for scheduling the parent interview and tour is 5:00 p.m. on December 9, 2025.

Once your application has been submitted, parents and guardians will be able to schedule the student visit on Ravenna. We look forward to meeting your daughter! The deadline for scheduling the Kindergarten Playgroup is 5:00 p.m. on December 9, 2025.

All parent(s)/guardian(s) will hear from Head of Lower School Thérèse Cruite to learn more about Chapin's Lower School curriculum and pedagogy. 

During this time, parents and guardians will have the opportunity to engage with members of the school leadership team, including Head of School Suzanne Fogarty and other community members.

We invite you to share a brief and current (between September 2025 - December 2025) video clip with us following the suggested guidelines:

• Record a casual observational video no longer than 60 seconds in length using your mobile phone or tablet (no professional recordings, please).
• Spontaneous conversation may be included.
• Suggested activities include building, drawing, painting, playdoh, imaginary play, outdoor time.

The confidential ISAAGNY school report is available to delegate on the Ravenna platform, The school report form must be received no later than January 9, 2026 for your application to be considered complete.

During the admissions process, your child will be invited to participate in a student visit at Chapin. Student visits are held during the week (and on a Saturday) for approximately one hour in the afternoon and usually include 8-10 children. The deadline for scheduling the student visit is 5:00 p.m. on December 9, 2025.
