Biography

Daniela Arreola Segrove is the Associate Director of College Guidance. A native of Mexico City, she has lived in six US states, five countries, and visited dozens more. Her lifelong passion for education and intercultural exchange has traveled with her, from her high school days in the French Alps as an AFS Award for Excellence recipient, to her work with the Andorran Ministry of Education as a Fulbright scholar. Ms. Segrove holds bachelor's degrees in theatre and political science from Barnard College and a master's degree in higher and post-secondary education from Teacher College, Columbia University. She brings over a decade of college admissions experience to Chapin, having worked as an Admissions Counselor at Barnard College and Associate Director of Undergraduate Admissions at New York University, where she led the New York-based NYU Abu Dhabi team and oversaw NYU Abu Dhabi’s recruitment in North and South America. Ms. Segrove is an active member of the National Association for College Admissions Counseling (NACAC); she has presented on topics ranging from global education to the future of women’s colleges at conferences and events sponsored by the Kentucky and Ohio Associations for College Admissions Counseling, the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, and others. In her spare time, Ms. Segrove collects unique stationery, fountain pens, and inks to write to her pen pals around the world. She loves exploring NYC's rich theatre scene, reading non-fiction books, and eating sushi with her wife, Alison.
