Welcome to Kindergarten, Class of 2032

Welcome to Kindergarten, Class of 2032

Wearing light- and dark-green jumpers and eager smiles, the youngest members of the Chapin community have taken their spots at 100 East End Avenue, ready for a wonderful year of growth and discovery. These curious learners – the Class of 2032! – are settling into their daily routines and beginning to enjoy all that this new experience has to offer.

In the three cheery Kindergarten homerooms (Rooms 21, 22 and 25), the teachers are introducing the girls to classroom rules, expectations and schedules, while helping their students develop independence and confidence. Making new friends and having fun are also important goals for Chapin Kindergartners.

Informed by this year’s school-wide theme, “Listen with Compassion, Act with Courage,” the early-fall curriculum focuses on identity, allowing the students to reflect in myriad ways on what this concept means to them.

Other current and upcoming activities include participating in Community Gathering groups; solving story problems in Math Workshop; building their digital skills in Technology; perusing picture books in Reading Workshop; writing, editing and publishing stories in Writing Workshop; learning Spanish; playing games in Physical Education; working on The Chapin Study; participating in Halloween Club with Upper School students; and visiting Carl Schurz Park.

Here’s to a joyful and enriching year of learning and friendship!
