The 2026-2027 School Year Has Begun!
Head of School and students arriving at Chapin on the first day of school

On Wednesday, September 8, the Professional Community (PC) welcomed back Chapin students in Classes 1-12 to 100 East End Avenue for their first day of school! The morning began with students, families, faculty and staff reconnecting after the summer break.

Our “2PEC7ACULAR” Class of 2027 gathered outside in their special senior shirts and took photos to commemorate their last first day at Chapin before participating in a senior tradition. Each year, our seniors use colorful chalk to create drawings and write their names, marking the beginning of their final year.

Following what was a joy-filled morning for all, Middle and Upper School students participated in their first division-wide Assemblies of the school year, led by Head of Middle School Hazel Hunt and Head of Upper School Allison Bishop, respectively. Our Division Heads shared inspiring messages and stories from their summers while welcoming Chapin’s newest students and PC members to the School. Each Assembly concluded with the singing of the School Song, which was first written in 1912 by students and their music teacher.

Chapin’s youngest, the Kindergarten Class of 2039, officially joined the community today, Friday, September 11. The girls’ half day was spent focused on getting to know  new classmates and teachers and exploring their new classroom!

Here's to another year of bold and courageous thinking, learning, creativity, and GREEN and GOLD!
