Students in K-12 and the Professional Community came together for Chapin’s final All School Assembly of the 2025-2026 school year last week.
As the students entered the Athletic Center, a slideshow played across the screens showcasing unforgettable moments — including many cross-divisional collaborations — from throughout the year.
Chapin’s Class 12 President of Self-Government, Grace F., opened the annual “Learning Legacy” Assembly, a memorable tradition during which students from each division’s graduating class (Class 3, Class 7 and Class 12) share remarks and advice with their peers.
To begin, Class 3 students Violet M., Olivia S. and Aanya M. shared thoughtful statements they had prepared. Aanya said, “You should follow your instincts, follow your gut, follow what you think is right. You should always respect your friends, teachers and yourself during any circumstances. And that is my advice to you!” Violet and Olivia went on to highlight the importance of “being kind and helpful to each other.”
Following our oldest Lower School students were the members of the Junior Council: Class 7 students Elaheh K., Sammii P., Josie M., Byrdie C., Olivia K and Tara K. They offered advice gathered from each of their homerooms that encouraged students to “be open to new friendships even in new grades [because] Middle School is a great time to branch out.” They also reflected on memories that stood out to many of their classmates, including Field Days and class trips, underscoring the importance of “remembering the small moments.”
Lastly, five of Chapin's graduating seniors came to the podium to share wisdom and insight that they have gained over the years. The Upper School representatives included Nora A., C.B., Jade M., Ella R. and Gemma R. “My biggest advice to you is not to not be afraid of trying new things,” Jade said, “But to try new things even if you are…I know that some of my most cherished moments are when I went out of my comfort zone.” She continued, “It’s okay to be scared, but don’t let those fears stop you from experiencing something lifechanging.”
Gemma added, “At Chapin, you’re going to grow in ways you didn’t even know were possible...mistakes are something to be proud of, they’re how you know you’re growing.”
Thank you to all of our student presenters for sharing inspiring advice that students across divisions will carry with them throughout their time at Chapin and beyond!
Following these wonderful words of wisdom, our Kindergarten students rose to sing “I’m Growing Up,” a touching tune that our youngest students sing to seniors each year.
As the Assembly came to a close, students hooked arms to sing the School Song together, and cheer for the Green and Gold!
