From March 9-11, the Assembly Room was transformed into a colorful oasis filled with magnificent music and dance. Students in Classes 9-12 dazzled their live audiences who visited 100 East End Avenue to see our legendary Dance Club recital!
With 36 members and boasting 17 student-choreographed pieces, the show was a resounding success. Dance Club is one of Chapin’s longest-running clubs, surpassing 80 years, and continues to produce engaging and impressive performances. This year, the charge was led by Head of Upper School Arts and Integration Sam Sherman ’05 with the invaluable help of Drama teacher Robert Thaxton-Stevenson and Dance teacher Allyson Ross.
The show encompassed solo, duet and group performances, enhanced by mesmerizing music and mood lighting, in a variety of genres including modern, hip hop, ballet and tap. Our Dance Club performances are the culmination of months of hard work, dedicated practice and endless passion.
Great job, all around! We can’t wait for next year’s performances!
