Joy, excitement and pride were ever present on June 11 during the Commencement ceremony of Chapin’s Class of 2025. The morning began with the traditional Assembly at 100 East End Avenue where Upper School students, faculty and staff gathered to celebrate Chapin’s newest alums. This intimate moment marked the beginning of an unforgettable day.

At 11:30 a.m., families, friends, faculty and staff took their seats at 583 Park Avenue as Chapin’s graduates made their entrance adorned in all-white dresses and pantsuits. The ceremony included beautiful performances of "Jerusalem," "The Parting Glass," "Gaudeamus" and the School Song, all sung by Upper School students in attendance and the Choral Club, under the direction of Choral Conductor Elizabeth Adler, with piano accompaniment by Walter Aparicio. The captivating voices of students were complemented by the sweet scent of white and pink peonies that adorned the stage where the Class of 2025 was seated. Allison Bishop, Head of Upper School, delivered “A Call to Celebrate,” while Class 10 Dean and Upper School Learning Specialist Nadia Murray Goodman gave the Commencement Address—a heartfelt message dedicated to the seniors with whom she is close. Additionally, Board Chair LeeAnn Black and Head of School Suzanne Fogarty offered remarks in honor of Chapin’s newest graduates.

Toward the end of the program, Ms. Fogarty presented the diplomas to the graduates, calling their names individually, giving them a few moments to walk across the stage and soak in this achievement. Each student gleamed with joy and confidence as the Chapin community cheered for them.

Congratulations to the members of the Class of 2025 on your graduation, a momentous occasion! You will forever be a cherished part of the Chapin family, and we look forward to witnessing your journeys and welcoming you back!
