On June 14, the 62 members of Chapin’s Class of 2023 were celebrated during a gorgeous Commencement ceremony. Proud and resplendent in white outfits, the seniors sat on a peony-decorated stage, facing their adoring families, teachers, friends and loved ones. The traditional program, which began at Chapin with a poignant Assembly with Upper School classmates and faculty, marked their final day as Chapin students and their first as lifelong alums. The Commencement ceremony included traditional songs sung by the Upper School students and the Choral Club; a reading of “A Call to Celebrate” by Upper School Head Allison Bishop; remarks from LeeAnn Black, Chair of the Board of Trustees; a funny and touching address by Commencement Speaker Sarah Rutledge, who is the former Class 11 Dean and Head of Upper School Arts & Integration and now Head of Upper School at the Professional Children’s School; and the jubilant presentation of the diplomas by Head of School Suzanne Fogarty.
Congratulations to the “2UP3RB” Class of 2023 on this extraordinary achievement. We wish you boundless joy and success as you embark on your post-Chapin adventures. You will always have a home at 100 East End Avenue!
