While the school day may end at 3:00 p.m., 100 East End Avenue certainly doesn’t stop bustling with activity!
Our youngest students are busy in Clubhouse, Chapin’s after-school program for Kindergarten through Class 5. Clubhouse is a collaborative, enrichment program through which students broaden their imagination, increase their physical activity and develop a deeper appreciation for the arts. Classes include Musical Theater, Debate Jr., GirlCode, Junior CEOs, Craft Studio, Chapin Builders, Fashion Illustration & Design, Sign Language and more.
A few floors above in Middle School, students can choose to participate in strings, chorus, robotics, math team, speech and debate, and performing arts. In Classes 5-7, they can also elect to join one of our seasonal athletic teams.
Upper School students have ample chances to delve deeper into areas of interest outside of the classroom. With over 30 student-led clubs in the Upper School, there is something for everyone! A sampling of clubs this year include Art Club, Bioethics, Cha-Pod (Podcasting Club), Civics Club, Coding Club, Entrepreneurship Club, Film Club, History Club, Math Club, Medical Club, WISE (Women in Science and Engineering) and many more!
US students can also join one of our affinity/education groups, athletics or extracurriculars, which encompass performing arts, student-led publications and academic programs (Model UN, Speech & Debate and Robotics).
After-school activities help students discover more about themselves, develop leadership and communication skills, employ their creativity, and foster friendships across grade levels. They also demonstrate to our Chapin students that learning doesn’t end when they step out of the classroom.
