Chapin alumnae networking in the new digital world

Chapin alumnae came from far and near for a roundtable discussion about the digital tech field on the evening of Wednesday, October 2. Kimberly Ingraham Evans ’96 graciously hosted the group at her office at Tiedemann Wealth Management in midtown.

A panel of alumnae with a wide range of experiences — Fell Ogden Gray ’93, Senior Director, Verbal Identity, Interbrand; Anne Kofol Hogarty ’00, Director of Finance, BuzzFeed; Lindsey Andrews Schilling ’99, Co-founder, Minibar Delivery; and moderator Liz Borod Wright ’95, Editor/Publisher,Travelogged.com — shared their perspectives on their digitally connected industries. Discussion topics included the energy, pace and intensity of digital work; the differences between working at an established company versus a start-up; the necessary technical knowledge and skills needed to be successful; and thoughts of what the future holds for the industry.

Alumnae also heard briefly about Chapin’s evolving Computer Science curriculum from Tao Wang, one of the School’s Academic Technology and Mathematics teachers, as well as tips on how to best network with one another.

We would like to continue to offer opportunities like this in the future. If you wish to help develop or host a networking event for alumnae in your field, please contact Irina MacGuire at 212.570.4916 or macguire@chapin.edu. Alumnae can also take advantage of the Chapin career network by logging into the Alumnae Portal.
