Nearly 500 guests joined in the Chapin Alumnae Reunion 2014 festivities on April 3 and 4. This is a particularly special year as Chapin marks the 150th anniversary of Miss Chapin's birth and the 100th anniversary of the Alumnae Association.
It was an action-packed two days that began Thursday, when alumnae had the opportunity to visit classes; listen to an extraordinary presentation on Computer Science; take a student-led tour of the school building; and hear Eleanor Southworth discuss highlights from Miss Chapin's life to mark the 150th anniversary of her birth. The day ended with classmates gathering and catching up at the annual cocktail party.
On Friday, alumnae attended the Annual Meeting, where they listened to remarks by Head of School Dr. Patricia T. Hayot, Chair of the Board of Trustees Linden Havemeyer Wise ’70, 50th Reunion Class Speaker Helen Donohue Higgins ’64, and President of Self-Government Gale McFarlane, a member of Class 12. The speeches were followed by the formal induction of Class 12 students (members of the Class of 2014) into the Alumnae Association. The meeting ended with the room standing and singing the School Song. The traditional Reunion luncheon followed, and even included cake to honor the many milestones being celebrated!
