The first of the two days of 2005's Alumnae Reunion culminated in a relaxed, enjoyable cocktail party for alumnae and their guests, held on Thursday night in the Assembly Room. Alumnae had ample time to chat with classmates, meet Chapin women from other graduating classes, and mingle with current and former faculty and staff.
As people caught up on news of their lives and news of Chapin, they enjoyed a delicious spread of food provided by the school kitchen staff. Plates of chicken pitas, smoked salmon on cucumber slices, shrimp cocktail, and potato pancakes with caviar made rounds of the room, while tables on the sides were filled with assorted cheeses, fresh fruits and the kitchen's signature hummus with vegetables.
Earlier in the day, some alumnae took the opportunity to attend presentations about current life at Chapin. The seminars covered the Life Skills program, efforts to cultivate media literacy among Chapin students and the state of technology at the school. In addition, Archivist Ellie Southworth gave a lecture and slide show about Chapin history, which was loved by all who attended.
Chapin congratulates the Class of 1955 on its 50th Reunion and the Class of 1980 on its 25th Reunion, and the school thanks all those alumnae who were able to attend this year's event. We hope to see even more of you next year!
