Ms. Hwang's deepest passion is teaching and mentoring students. Her professional journey began at the University of Pennsylvania, where she studied history and education as an undergraduate. She later pursued a masters degree in education at Stanford University. Her graduate training encouraged her to explore her interests in curriculum development and project-based learning. Eventually, these pursuits led to a commitment to science education and helping students understand the world around them. She believes science is essential to celebrating student curiosity and exploring new ways of thinking. Prior to joining the Chapin community, Ms. Hwang taught second grade at the Polytechnic School in Pasadena, CA. She also taught fourth and fifth grades in previous positions. Outside of school, Ms. Hwang enjoys paddle boarding and following U.S. women's soccer.
