Alida Durham Clemans joined the Chapin community in the summer of 2016 and divides her time between Communications & Advancement. She has extensive experience as a writer and editor, having worked in communications for several New York City independent schools, including The Collegiate School and Columbia Grammar & Preparatory School, as well as The City University of New York. Ms. Clemans is the author of two middle-grade novels, "Until the Ocean Freezes" (2020), and its sequel "Hoops on the Moon," which was released in November 2022. She is currently pursuing an MFA in fiction writing at St. Francis College in Brooklyn, where she is completing her third book for young readers. A graduate of SUNY Albany with a degree in English and Journalism, Ms. Clemans enjoys reading, cooking, yoga, walking her dog and spending time with her family.
