Biography

Amber Bryant earned her M.F.A. in creative writing from Southampton College and her B.A. in English Literature, with minors in mass communication and writing, from Middle Tennessee State University. Early in her career, Ms. Bryant worked as a high school librarian and dorm parent at The Ross School, as a copywriter for an independent design company and as an expository writing instructor at Suffolk County Community College. Ms. Bryant joined the Chapin team in 2012, serving as Executive Assistant to the Head of School for eight years while building the Upper School's Internships Program, teaching Fiction Writing in the Upper School and leading a weekly writing workshop. Ms. Bryant is now the Coordinator of Internships and a member of the Upper School English Department. A lifelong student of all that academic and working life can teach us, she has partnered with the Inner-City Scholarship Fund's Job Opportunities Program and Chapin's former White Antiracist Affinity Group (WAAG), now Chapin Adults Centering Equity (CACE), to help develop equitable education and professional-training programs.
