Suzanne Zekonis joined the Chapin faculty in 2013. She teaches Middle School science and coaches junior varsity robotics. Ms. Zekonis was born and raised in New York’s Mid-Hudson Valley, whose majestic beauty fostered her love of nature and the outdoors. Ms. Zekonis has a variety of experience as an educator. She taught middle and high school science and math in a public school in Fallsbugh, New York for ten years. After a family move to Greenwich, Connecticut, Ms. Zekonis taught middle school science for ten years at Brunswick School, an independent school for boys. While there, she advised the environmental club and raised trout as part of the science curriculum. Ms. Zekonis earned a Bachelor of Science degree in biology and secondary education from S.U.N.Y. Oswego and a Master of Science degree in biology and secondary education from SUNY New Paltz. She loves hiking, canoeing, camping, snowboarding, and observing nature. She is married with one son.
