Michael Davis

Michael Davis received his bachelor's degree from Duke University, his JD from the University of Pennsylvania and his master's degree in physical education from Teachers College, Columbia University. He is also a Fellow for The Academy of Teachers. Since joining Chapin in 2000, Mr. Davis has taught physical education for grades K-12 and has coached Chapin soccer, basketball, badminton, and track teams. He is the co-chair of the Physical Education Department, Head of Upper School Physical Education, Advisor to the Chapin Football Club, the head coach of the Chapin Varsity Basketball and 7/8 soccer teams, and the Head of MS Badminton. During his tenure coaching the Chapin Varsity Basketball team, Mr. Davis’ teams have won multiple AAIS regular-season and post-season titles (including four undefeated AAIS seasons and three AAIS post-season tournament championships), and have qualified to play in multiple New York State Post-Season Championship Tournaments. Mr. Davis is also the founder and director of the Chapin Gator Hoops basketball program and Sports Saturday programs for Chapin Lower and Middle School students. For many summers, he was the Director of the Future Stars Basketball Camp at SUNY Purchase, in Purchase, NY. Mr. Davis has also served as a coach at the Duke Women's and Men's Basketball Camp in Durham, NC, and Point Guard College basketball camps.
