Jessica Thies earned her bachelor's degree in child psychology from Hobart and William Smith Colleges. After spending a semester studying and traveling in South America, she also obtained a minor in Latin American studies. She completed her dual master's degree in early childhood general and special education from Bank Street College of Education, while teaching at a private school on Long Island. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, traveling and exploring the outdoors, especially through road biking, skiing, snowshoeing and gardening. She joined the Chapin staff in 2005.
