Lynette Engel earned her bachelor's degree in comparative literature from Yale University and her MA in English literature from Hunter College. After working as a musical theater dancer and singer throughout the United States, Ms. Engel moved to Germany to continue her theater career. There, she performed in many productions, including CATS and West Side Story. After 10 years of dancing and singing abroad, Ms. Engel decided to hang up her dancing shoes and to rekindle her love for teaching. She joined the Chapin faculty in 2003. After two years at Chapin as a Class 3 assistant teacher, she became an English teacher in the Middle School. She enjoys the fun and drama that the students bring to her life.
