Tara Sanfilippo earned a bachelor of science in chemistry from St. Joseph's College and completed her master's in science education at Teachers College, Columbia University. She is currently completing her EdM in science teacher education at Teachers College. She has worked in the Garcia Materials Research Science and Engineering Center's summer program for high school students, which coaches students in their projects for the Siemens Westinghouse and Intel competitions. Ms. Sanfilippo has taught chemistry, Advanced Placement chemistry, physics, biology, and Class 5, 6 and 8 science courses. She is currently the coach of Chapin's new Debate Team. Ms. Sanfilippo has been at Chapin since 2001.
