Biography

Carolyn Crandall holds a bachelor’s of fine arts degree from Wittenberg University, a master's degree in elementary education from Lesley College, and special education certification from Hunter College. Since beginning her teaching career in 1989, Ms. Crandall has taught second, third and fourth grades. She came to Chapin in 1999. As part of her professional development, she has participated in various workshops and courses, including the Teacher’s College Reading and Writing Institutes, Structure of Language, Language-Based Learning Disabilities: Strategies for Success, and Dr. Greenleaf's Brain Based Teaching. She is an International Dyslexia Association certified Structured Literacy Dyslexia Interventionist and a certified Wilson Level I Teacher. During her free time, she enjoys kayaking, hiking, golfing, skiing, woodworking, and spending time with her family.
