Biography
Dr. Carolyn Ash received her B.A. in Psychology from Oberlin College, M.A. in Education from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor and Ed.D. in Educational Leadership, Management and Policy from Seton Hall University. She is a Pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade alum of Colorado Academy in Denver. She began her professional career in independent schools at her alma mater years ago as Director of Upper School Admission and Financial Aid.
Dr. Ash's background includes deep experience in academic enrollment, student services, admissions, financial aid and non-profit management, honed at institutions including Aspen Academy, where she served as Director of Enrollment and Global Citizenship; Starr King School for the Ministry, where she held the position of Vice President of Academic Enrollment and Student Services; The Carey School, where she was Director of Admission and Financial Aid; and The Spirituals Project at the University of Denver, which she led as Executive Director. She comes to Chapin most recently from College Track, a national college completion program serving students from low-income communities who will be the first in their family to earn a bachelor’s degree.
Dr. Ash loves to sing and is a huge fan of the arts, especially TV, film, theater and photography. She also loves to travel, throughout the U.S. and globally.
