Ms. Buser’s professional teaching career began at Bucknell University where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in early childhood education while gaining a Pennsylvania Teaching Certification in pre-k through fourth grade. After, she pursued a master's degree in cognitive science in education at Teachers College, Columbia University, which strengthened her understanding of the cognitive mechanisms involved in thinking and learning. Prior to joining Chapin, Ms. Buser taught kindergarten and second grade at The School at Columbia University in New York City. In addition to her teaching at The School, she collaborated on integrated curriculum development and parent education in literacy and growth mindset. Her training has included, but is not limited to, the Reading and Writing Summer Institute at Teachers College Columbia University, a certification in Children’s Yoga, Metamorphosis Teaching and Learning Communities, Teach 21 at The School at Columbia University, and Mindfulness in Education at Bank Street College of Education. In her free time, Ms. Buser enjoys playing golf and traveling close to the ocean as much as possible.
