A native New Yorker, Marc Bogursky has worked for six different independent schools over three decades in three different states in a wide variety of roles. Directly after completing his bachelor's degree at Columbia College, Mr. Bogursky started his career as a math teacher (a job he had wanted to have since he was eight years old) at a boarding school in New England. After returning to New York and the now defunct The McBurney School, he joined The Dalton School where he transitioned from classroom teacher to administrator, serving as the Director of Student Activities. While at Dalton, he also re-enrolled at Columbia University and completed his master's degree coursework in educational administration at Teachers College. On the cusp of a new millennium, Mr. Bogursky, his wife and two children (the second only sixteen days old) moved to the Twin Cities where he took on the role of Upper School Director at The Blake School. Eleven years later, Mr. Bogursky's career path took an unexpected turn as he assumed the responsibilities of Blake's Chief Financial Officer. Always knowing they would return to New York, Mr. Bogursky's family headed back east in 2015 where he became the CFO for Blue School, a progressive pre-school through 8th grade institution in lower Manhattan. Two years after that, Mr. Bogursky took on the CFO role at Chapin, where he is very happily enjoying his commute (a one mile walk from his apartment) and even more so, his interactions with the members of this exceptionally dedicated and talented community. Not surprisingly, one of Mr. Bogursky's abiding life passions is travel, having visited 48 of the 50 states and over 30 countries on five continents.
