The two weeks after school ends are a great time to take a step back, relax, and make the transition into summer. Many Lower and Middle School girls know that the best way to do that is to spend time with their friends from school playing on the beach, exploring exhibits at the Liberty Science Center, having a pool party at Asphalt Green, watching movies and eating a healthy snack in the cafeteria. This is exactly what participants in June Jamboree, Chapins two-week summer camp, have the chance to do.
For girls in Kindergarten through Class 6, June Jamboree offers a shift of emphasis from the rigors of academics to having fun. The program centers on trips to popular attractions in the tri-state area, from Connecticut beaches to museums and exhibits. Through adventures with their friends to places they may have never seen before, girls learn to develop an appreciation for the wonderful and exciting world around them. Chapin faculty and staff members lead the program, with help from a group of Upper School counselors.
June Jamboree is overseen by Jeanne Allegra and Tina Herman. The program is open to Chapin students currently in Classes K through 6. Brochures are sent home in late February and are available at the North Door and for download above. For more information about the program, contact the June Jamboree hotline at 212.570.4964.
