Wanda Holland Greene '85
Head of The Hamlin School, San Francisco
Words of wisdom: I continue to be inspired by the words of Headmistress Emerita Mildred Berendsen, who insisted that Chapin girls “stand up and be counted.” This is exactly what I do every day as I lead a school for girls and young women.
The Chapin effect: Without question, Chapin’s emphasis on stellar oral and written communication skills. I am required to speak publicly all the time and to write frequently, and I have absolutely no fear of the podium or a blank sheet of paper! At Chapin, I learned that my voice, whether out loud or on paper, is a powerful instrument that can be used to inspire, motivate and teach.
