Oscar Kemjika | profile
Oscar Kemjika has been a track athlete for over 14 years. Since his sophmore year at JFK High School in the Bronx (Riverdale), he has competed in cross country, indoor and outdoor track. His running events ranged from the 5K and 10K in cross country to the 400m and 1500m on the track. He became a more seasoned runner during his college years at Lehman College, where he earned his bachelor's degree in exercise science, and post-collegiate as a member of Central Park Track Club, where his focus has been on the 800 and 400m events. The highlights of his career include his most recent participation in the 2016 Nigerian Olympic Trials, and becoming the 2005 AAU Champion in the 800m.
Oscar's passion for the sport of track and field comes from his love of competition and the spirit of achievement through hard work and self-discovery/mastery. As a track coach, he hopes to inspire young children who are where he once was when he first stepped foot on the line to compete at a track meet. He sees coaching as a way to learn and grow while sharing his knowledge of the sport.
