Carlton Farrier earned her bachelor's degree in American studies at Mary Washington College and her master of education degree in health and physical education at the University of Virginia. She has done extensive continuing coursework in education and related fields. Ms. Farrier teaches physical education to students in Kindergarten through Class 12 and coaches in the Middle and Upper Schools. She certifies students, faculty, coaches and staff in American Red Cross and New York State CPR, AED, and First Aid and Safety (basic through advanced levels), and is the coordinator of the Sports Saturday program. Ms. Farrier is a member of the Class 11 homeroom team. Prior to arriving at Chapin in 1990, she taught physical education and piano at St. Anne’s-Belfield School in Charlottesville, Virginia, served as department chair and after-school programs director at The Fleming School, and was the department chair and athletic director of The Ethical Culture Fieldston School’s middle and upper school divisions.
