Healthy Decision Making
One concept that links all the components of the Chapin life skills program is making healthy decisions. It figures into almost any aspect of a student's life: She will be her best if she learns how to make the wisest decisions for herself in terms of developing personal relationships, handling unexpected conflicts, standing up for herself and her beliefs, managing stress, eating wisely and more. The life skills program instructs students in ways to determine the best path in dealing with communicating with others, the use of alcohol and drugs, choosing academic courses and a possible career path, and sexual health. Healthy decision-making is a core component of the life skills curriculum that guides the way in which Chapin works with girls of all ages and grade levels.
