Annual Giving makes everything at Chapin possible. It supports the faculty members who impart their knowledge of colonial America, plane geometry and Renaissance art to our students; it enhances our library collections; it ensures that Chapin remains on the leading edge of technological innovation; it allows students who would otherwise not be able to afford a Chapin education to attend school here. Chapin is proud of the legacy of support that it has received from alumnae, parents, parents of alumnae, grandparents and others through the Annual Giving program.
Each year since 1959, the cost of providing a Chapin education has exceeded tuition revenue. The current gap between tuition and cost is $8,242 per student and continues to grow every year, as the cost of education rises. Annual Giving provides the unrestricted dollars that Chapin needs to balance its budget after taking into account tuition funds and income from the schools endowment.
Gifts to the Annual Fund help ensure:
- A low student/faculty ratio (7:1)
- A challenging academic program and rich extracurricular activities
- A faculty of the highest caliber
- A talented and diverse student body
Participation in the Annual Fund is vitally important. We encourage each member of the Chapin community to contribute, no matter what the amount of the gift. Gifts of all sizes are meaningful to the school and its students, and participation is a key factor reviewed by charitable foundations when making educational grants.
The goal for the 2007-2008 Annual Giving drive is $2,900,000.
Annual Giving ends June 30 each year.
