It all has to start somewhere ...
In a blur of plaid and green, Chapin students converged on 100 East End Avenue on the morning of September 6 for the first day of school. The halls echoed with successive waves of enthusiastic reunions, and there was a run on blueberry muffins in the Gordon Room the likes of which hadn't been seen in months. Homeroom teachers began explaining the procedures for the year. Students new to Chapin got a chance to introduce themselves and learn a bit about their classmates. The coming weeks will offer many opportunities for students to acclimate to their new classrooms, get into the academic work of the year, join existing clubs or start new ones, take on early-season athletic competitors and, in a ritual that every student knows well, become reaccustomed to that time-honored and not necessarily beloved custom: homework.
