Middle School Admissions

Classes 4 through 7

The admissions process begins in the fall prior to the desired year of enrollment. Admission to Classes 4 through 7 is dependent upon available space. A description of the application procedures for your daughter's particular class will be included in your brochure package.

Middle School Admissions Checklist:

Request admissions materials

Submit an online request or telephone the Admissions Office at (212) 744-2335 to receive a brochure package and an application form.

Send completed application form and fee

The deadline for all applications and fees is December 15, 2008. Applications received after this date will be reviewed on a rolling admissions basis if space is available.

Appointments

Once your application has been received, the Admissions Office will contact you to schedule your visits. Appointments will only be scheduled if there is space available. You and your daughter will tour the school and have an interview with the Director of Admissions and the Head of Middle School. Candidates will return for placement testing in mathematics and English.

Schedule an examination from the Educational Records Bureau

Contact the Educational Records Bureau to arrange a test date. Use this link or telephone the testing center at (212) 672-9800. Be sure to request that test results be sent to Chapin.

In order to ensure proper consideration by the Admissions Committee, we recommend your daughter take the ERB no later than January 1, 2009.

School Report

The Admissions Office will send you a Release of Records Form. Please submit this form to your daughter's school's staff so that they may send us her school report.
