Fees and Financial Aid

Tuition for 2007-2008

Kindergarten through Class 12: $29,100

Additional Expenses

Additional expenses range from approximately $950 to $2,500, depending on the grade level. Expenses include books, school supplies, recess food, lunch, Parents' Association dues, school trips, Tuition Refund Insurance and the Accident Reimbursement Plan. School uniforms, the Clubhouse after-school program, and certain bus services are additional costs.

Financial Aid

Financial Aid is based solely on need and is available at all grade levels. Admissions decisions are made independently of financial need. The Chapin School is committed to a financial aid program that will provide approximately $2.9 million in tuition aid for 16 percent of our student body in the 2007-2008 school year.

Financial Aid Checklist

Complete the Parents' Financial Statement (PFS) form and Form 4506, which will be mailed to you in late October.
Send the following documentation to the Admissions Office:
  • A photocopy of your completed PFS form.
  • Completed Form 4506. In case of a lack of clarity or a discrepancy, this form will be used by the school to request federal income tax information directly from the IRS.
  • Photocopies of your 1040 Federal Income Tax Returns for the 2005 and 2006 tax years, both personal and business returns.
  • Photocopies of all schedules, W-2 forms and/or 1099 forms. Tax documents for 2006 will be requested when appropriate.
Send the original PFS form to the School and Student Service for Financial Aid (SSS) in Princeton, NJ. Request that a copy of their report be forwarded to Chapin.
Submit all financial aid documentation by January 7, 2008.
